Today we had the honor of hosting Albertine Bloemendal, Assistant Professor of North American studies at Radboud University in Nijmegen. She came to talk to upper school students about the different branches of the American government, the division of powers, the system of checks and balances, and how the American presidential election works. She of course also discussed the results of the election thus far. Students of class 4 Cambridge were required to attend this lecture as part of their American studies curriculum and several other students signed up to attend out of personal interest in what is certainly one of the most significant elections in history. We are very grateful that Professor Bloemendal came to share her knowledge and insights at such a timely juncture as we wait in anticipation of what the final results will be.
